Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, my friends! This year has trundled past at such a high speed that it is hard to believe it is the Silly Season yet again.

Mind you, here in Christchurch we have had a year like no other, our mettle has been severely tested and I can say proudly that as a city we have come thru it all with flying colours. Not that we have seen the end of it all yet as we shook again severely a couple of times yesterday, but things are looking up.

But despite everything that has happened this year it is now Christmas so look after your humans, don’t let them eat or drink too much, and try to be disciplined and not pee on the Christmas tree!
